Welcome! This is David π I have over 5 years of experience running strategic research in industry and academia. I also taught product innovation at NYU Shanghai.
Currently, I lead research for the Security Operations Business Unit at ServiceNow as a Staff UX Researcher. In this role, I oversee AI product strategy, support new product development, and drive the adoption of flagship offerings.
From 2021 – 2023, I was an Adjunct Professor teaching the senior capstone studio for the Interactive Media and Business major at NYU Shanghai. I launched the User Research Fundamentals course, which is now a core elective.
In 2021, I was the solo researcher for Duolingo‘s China team and the Duolingo English Test team. Research results directly helped curriculum revamp and updates on the subscription model.
From 2020 – 2022, I worked with Professor Laura Dabbish at Carnegie Mellon University Human-Computer Interaction Institute‘s CoEx Lab as a full-time Research Associate, where I led NSF-funded research on account-sharing behaviors in romantic couples. My works were published at CHI and CSCW, the top HCI conferences. View all my publications.
